What: The Stakes of the Warrior by Georges Dumézil

This week we’ll be finishing The Stakes of the Warrior, an  academic text by the scholar Georges Dumézil. Dumézil makes comparisons across Indo-European mythologies to understand the role of the warrior/hero.  We’ll read the third chapter to the end (starting around page 70). The book can be hard to find, unfortunately, but ask David for a copy if you need one.

Come prepared to discuss the reading or just to geek out about your favorite mythological hero.
