White Mountain Druid Sanctuary update
Since our last update, the Goddess Brigid’s Shrine complete, as are the Shrines to Rhiannon, Lleu Llaw Gyffes and The Goddess Samona. Over the last year, work has started on a Shrine to Apollo. Here is an update from Kirk,
We have that statue of Apollo sitting in His crate down in a storage area, and that’s driving Rev. Kirk nuts! So he’s finally started building a shrine to Him. Of course, as is his wont, Rev. Kirk has bitten off quite a bit to chew with this one, and the new shrine will be a triple one. Two small Greek temples will flank a stoa between them, all facing east. The right hand temple (the north one) is for Apollo Smintheus (Apollo of the Plague) and the left temple (the south one) is for Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. The stoa will contain all 13 of the Olympians (I know, there are only 12 Olympians, but which 12 deities making up the list depends on where they were worshiped. So I decided to include all 13, just to be safe). All three shrines will have columns!
This has been, first, a wet summer, and then a hot summer, and the work has been proceeding slowly. The foundation is mostly in, and then the walls will go up. This certainly won’t be done by winter, but we will work hard on it as long as we can. We’ll have to finish it up in the spring.
Thanks all for your continuing support as we strive to make the White Mountain Druid Sanctuary a place to worship and enjoy.
The Patreon site (patreon.com/wmds) has been updated with information about getting engraved bricks for the walkway up to Brigid’s Shrine. We also have a blog at https://witchesandpagans.com/pagan-paths-blogs/cascadia-druids.html.
